Strategic Thinking on Shallow-water Oil and Gas Exploration in Offshore China

Ke-qiang Wu,Jian-yong Xu,Bo Kang

Frontiers of Engineering Management 2016, Volume 3, Issue 4,   Pages 349-355 doi: 10.15302/J-FEM-2016056

Abstract: The oil and gas exploration in offshore China has made great achievements, and as the important areas of offshore exploration, the shallow waters contribute most of the oil and gas reserves and production. However, the available area for exploration is diminishing and the cost of exploration is rising. The field changes and ever increasing difficulties of exploration bring new challenges technically and economically. Therefore, for effective exploration of shallow-water oil and gas in offshore China, it is necessary to center on the general requirements of becoming a powerful marine country and the ideas of value exploration, initiate key research projects in the fields of China’s offshore stratigraphic-lithologic reserves, Paleogene reserves, buried-hill reserves, high temperature and pressure reserves and hydrocarbon-rich sags, and form geological theories and explorative technologies of large and medium size oil and gas field in offshore China. The measures regarding the challenges include: (1) Innovating theoretical understanding and optimizing new exploration fields, (2) developing technical capabilities and improving the success rate of exploration, and (3) enhancing management level and deepening value exploration.

Strategic thinking about the development of the biomass-energy industry in China

Hong Hao

Strategic Study of CAE 2008, Volume 10, Issue 7,   Pages 35-38

Abstract:

At present, the development strategy for biomass-energy in China mainly aims at the substitution for fossil energy sources. However, due to the different national conditions between China and developed countries, the traditional biomass-energy which is used to meet the needs of country energy consumption ranks the third in total energy consumption of China. The development of biomass-energy industry should be realized in two stages—in the early period, implementing the strategy for substituting for traditional bio-energy and in the long term, for fossil energy sources.

Strategic Study of CAE 2012, Volume 14, Issue 3,   Pages 37-40

Abstract:

China oil and gas exploration and development history is the history of innovation. This period of history has made brilliant achievements. In this paper, we innovated eight oil and gas geological theory and eight technology, more than 500 oil and gas fields have been find. In 2010 an annual output of oil is 2.1×108 t, natural gas is 950×108 m3。From recent research and practice to think, Chinese oil and gas resources are very rich, have great potential for exploration. At last we put forward the oil gas resources development strategy.

Technology Innovation and Practice of Green Exploitation Projects of Oil and Gas in the Western Sichuan Gas Field

Hong-yong Liu,Yi-qi Chen,Yi Yang

Frontiers of Engineering Management 2015, Volume 2, Issue 1,   Pages 71-75 doi: 10.15302/J-FEM-2015010

Abstract: The green (environmentally friendly) project of mining oil and gas in the Western Sichuan area is based on the green low-carbon development strategy of the China Petrochemical Corporation, and it commits to form a complete set of technological developments in oil and gas extraction processes. The project focuses on technology innovation in three aspects: reuse of fracturing flow back fluid, reuse of drilling fluid, and configuration of fracturing fluid and drilling fluid by formation water. A series of technology innovations not only realize the green low-carbon strategy of the enterprise, but also play an important role in lowering cost and improving efficiency. In addition, the technology achieves remarkable social and economic benefits and inspires the ideas for industry technology innovation.

China’s Energy Development for 2035: Strategic Thinking and Suggestions

Xie Kechang

Strategic Study of CAE 2022, Volume 24, Issue 6,   Pages 1-7 doi: 10.15302/J-SSCAE-2022.06.001

Abstract:

The period before 2035 is critical for China to realize socialist modernization. The high-quality development of its energy industry must consider basic national conditions and development stages. Moreover, promoting the green and low-carbon transformation of the energy industry while guaranteeing a stable energy supply is the prerequisite for ensuring the sustainable economic and social development. This study summarized the current status of China’s energy development from six aspects: energy capacity, energy structure, comprehensive energy efficiency, energy science and technology, system and mechanism, and energy security. The key issues of energy development were analyzed, focusing on the role of coal for guaranteeing energy security, replacement of traditional energies with renewable energies for incremental energy consumption, sustainable supply of oil and gas, independent development of nuclear power, and large-scale development of the hydrogen energy industry. Four stages were proposed for the energy revolution and carbon reduction in China by 2035. Furthermore, we suggest that energy conservation should be prioritized in all aspects, clean and efficient use of coal should be promoted, renewable energies should be the major source of future energy increment, and low-carbon transformation should be accelerated to create an energy system that features multi-energy complementation.

Strategic thinking for developing low-carbon economy in “Three Gorges Area”

Wang Yingluo,Zhang Guoxing,Guo Ju’e

Strategic Study of CAE 2010, Volume 12, Issue 8,   Pages 4-7

Abstract:

The richness and stable condition of migrants, the construction of ecological environment and the harmonious development of socio-economy in Three Gorges is an important problem in post Three Gorges. It's regretful that there are some contradictions exist in the man-land relations, employment and ecological problems in the reservoir area now, which leads to the necessity to protect the ecological environment following a low-carbon development. Firstly, we suggest develop low-carbon tourism industry which means to plan the tourism resources effectively, cultivate low-carbon tourism industry groups, create low-carbon transport corridors, and market special products in the reservoir area. Secondly, we suggest develop low-carbon farm aptly and set up a domestic carbon trading market. Finally, it's necessary to build a low carbon living system in the reservoir area, and make the Three Gorges area to an exemplary low-carbon area in China.
